Violet and Klaus Baudelaire and inside a caravan hurdling down the Mortmain Mountains toward the Stricken Stream. Violet tries and tries to think of a plan and then she finally gets a thought. violet quickly goes into action and stops the caravan. The two baudelaires get out of the caravan and start to walk up the mountains to find their baby sister, Sunny. While on their long and dreadful hike the Baudelaires meet a person who they thought was actually dead, they met Quigley Quagmire. Quigley helped the Baudelaires locate Sunny and the remnants of V.F.D. While night was falling, Violet and Quigley took light with them and started up the mountain, while Klaus stayed at the burned V.F.D. to look for some clues about the V.F.D. volunteers’ whereabouts. Violet and Quigley find Sunny and try to communicate, but sadly the communication was interrupted by a wicked man named Count Olaf. Violet doesn't give up. She keeps trying until finally Violet and her sister got in contact. Violet asked her sister to try to listen to Olaf’s conversations and hear about the last safe place where the last volunteers might be. Sunny finds information about the last safe place and quickly reports back to her sister. Violet then thinks of a plan and rescues her sister, but Olaf reveals their disguises and sends them down on a long journey toward the Stricken Stream.
